 STGT Tripura Examination – Full Guide (2022 Notification)

1. Overview

The Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) 2022 was conducted by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) to hire Graduate Teachers for Classes IX–X.

Notification Released: 15 July 2022

Application Window: 21 July – 30 July 2022 (up to 4 PM)

Fee Payment Last Date: 4 August 2022 (4 PM)

Admit Card: Available from 25 August to 31 August 2022 (from evening onwards)

Exam Date: 11 September 2022 (Sunday), 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM (2 hours 30 minutes)  

3. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Upper Age Limit: 40 years (as on 15 July 2022)

Relaxation: +5 years for SC/ST/PH candidates and government servants  

Educational Qualifications

Minimum requirement:

Graduation or Post-Graduation with at least 50% marks, plus B.Ed. from an NCTE-recognized institution.

Alternative: 45% marks in Graduation/Post-Graduation with B.Ed. eligible.

Another path: Four-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed from NCTE-approved institute also accepted.  

4. Exam Structure

Total Marks: 150 (150 MCQs, 1 mark each)

Time Allowed: 2 hours 30 minutes

Negative Marking: None  

Streams (Subjects Groups)

Candidates needed to apply in one of these three streams:

1.. Pure Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

2. Biological Science: Botany, Zoology, Physiology

3. Social Science (Arts): Bengali, English, History, Geography--

5. Minimum Qualifying Marks

General (UR): 50% (75 out of 150)

SC / ST / PH: 45% (68 out of 150)  

Note: These are just the qualifying benchmarks; actual merit cut-offs usually vary based on exam difficulty and number of vacancies.

6. Recruitment Status & Candidate Concerns

Despite the exam being held in September 2022, results were not declared even as of 2025, prompting protests by candidates in Agartala. Aspirants voiced frustration over prolonged delays, fearing they may exceed the age limit before final recruitment.  -
